Sacred Time: Rhythms for Renewal

Spring Day Retreat in Niagara Falls

April 18th : 9:30a.m.-3:30p.m.

How do the rhythms of your days shape the reality of your life? In a world where attention is constantly pulled outward, this restorative retreat invites you to gently reclaim your focus and to return home to what truly nourishes and sustains you.

Join my dear colleague, counsellor and spiritual director Sharon Soderholm and me for a restorative day at Mount Carmel Monastery and Spiritual Retreat Centre.

Through reflection, prayerful stillness, and creativity, we will explore the sacred movement of Dawn, Day, Dusk, and Dark—honouring the unique light, energy, and invitations each holds.

Participants will create a personal Book of Hours, drawing on an ancient contemplative tradition. Through collage, painting, poetry, and Visio Divina, you will craft a beautiful, prayerful guide to help anchor your days in beauty, truth, and love.

No artistic experience is needed—only an open heart and a spirit of curiosity.

“The hours of the day offer wisdom. From sleeping to waking and sleeping again, we are invited to acknowledge that there is a time for everything; a time for waking and rising and embracing the work of the day; a time for slumber, dreams, and renewal; a time for creating and restoring, for flowering forth in the world, and for retreating and nourishing ourselves.” - Christine Valters Paintner in The Artist’s Rule

Grief and Gratitude Weekend Retreat

November 13th-15th, 2026 Mount Carmel Monastery,
Niagara Falls

Join me and Sharon Soderholm for a transformative weekend designed to guide us through the tender landscape of loss and the profound beauty of appreciation. We will create a sacred and supportive space to acknowledge, honour, and integrate our experiences of grief, while simultaneously cultivating a deeper connection to gratitude.

During our weekend together we will create a handmade gratitude & grief journal using a simple book binding technique and collage. Weaving together reflection and ritual, music and poetry, guided journaling, time for individual contemplation and conversation with kind souls, this will be a slow paced and restorative retreat.

To register for these retreats, call 905 356 4113 or email reservations@carmelniagara.com

“The soul requires duration of time…rich, thick, deep, velvety time…and it thrives on rhythm. Souls can’t be hurried or harried.”
